Second enlistment in Sidney, Kennebec County (1863) indicates return to his birth county after 1860. A Mark Frost (birth estimated 1819, age 58) appears in Maine Deaths and Burials dying 19 March 1877 in Augusta, Kennebec — consistent with age and county. Death date assigned medium-high confidence. 1870 CENSUS ANOMALY RESOLVED (session 3, 2026-03-31): The Rome, Kennebec Mark Frost with 'Lucy A Frost' (ark:/61903/1:1:M6D2-T6J) is a DIFFERENT person — FamilySearch lists separate Mark Frost persons with spouses 'Lucy A Frost' and 'Matilda Orcutt' in Kennebec County. Catherine Gibberd's FamilySearch profile (K6QM-FM6) records 1870 residence as Augusta, Kennebec (0 sources) — she was likely at the Maine Insane Hospital by this date, consistent with her confirmed 1900 residence there. Our Mark Frost was likely also in the Augusta area near Catherine's institution, and died there 19 March 1877. This resolution elevates death record confidence from 'medium' to 'medium-high'.
